Vesselino Ltd. offers a wide variety of wild and cultivated dried herbs and flowers typical of the rich flora of the Balkan Peninsula. We require strict adherence to shelf life, collection and drying techniques, and strict control over further processing, packaging, and storage of herbs.

The herbs are dried under appropriate conditions and cut herbs that can be stored for up to two years. They are also called medicinal herbs.

Medicinal herbs cover a large group of plants that are used in medical and veterinary medical practice for the prevention and treatment of diseases.

Active substances

They contain drug-active substances that have a positive influence on the human body. Contemporary scientific research proves the healing properties of many ancient herbs. The active substances are mostly contained in plant leaves and flowers. Bulgarian dried herbs contain a high percentage of biologically active substances due to the varying climatic and soil conditions. They are rich in many chemical compounds: alkaloids, glycosides, saponins, polysaccharides, tannins, flavonoids, lignans, coumarins, essential and fatty oils, vitamins, microelements and others.

At the first place

Bulgaria is one of the main suppliers of dried herbs all over the world. We hold the first place in the export of herbs to Europe. According to unofficial data, approximately 17,000 tonnes of herbs are exported per year. More than 90% of the annual yields of herbs - wild and cultivated - are exported to Italy, Germany, France and the United States. They are used for the production of food supplements, teas, extracts, cosmetics or medicines.
