Horseradish - perennial herbaceous plant of the family Cruciferae (Cruciferae). The rhizomes are meaty, thick with many roots, with a wolf bark penetrating deep into the soil. Their interior is white, juicy. They have a very sharp, hot taste. Stem is up to 1 m high, branched. Primed leaves are large, up to 40 cm. with stems, and the leaves on the stem smaller. The fruit is a revival. It is propagated most vegetative. blooms in May - September.

In Bulgaria several varieties are grown in the gardens. Along the settlements there is an encounter, especially on the Danube islands.

Radishes (Radix Aromoaciae) in fresh horseradish are used. Roots with rootstocks are dug in autumn, in the second year after germination of the plant.

In Medicine it is used as anti-bullet and diuretic, in bronchial catarrh, to stimulate appetite, to strengthen the body. Externally applied to rheumatism and gout.

Horseradish is also widely used in the food industry.
