Great plantain (common plantain) is a perennial herbaceous plant with a naked, leafy floral stem, 10-15 cm high, and leaves collected in the basal rosette. The leaves are short-handed, lanceolate. The flowers are small, whitish.

Blooms in May and August. It is found all over meadows, dry grassy and sandy places. 

For medicinal purposes, the leaves, fresh juice, and plant seeds, which have a softening, early-healing, antimicrobial, laxative, anti-ulcer and diuretic action, are used in medicine. 

Recommended for bronchitis and other respiratory tract infections, digestive disorders, gastritis with increased acidity of gastric juice, ulcer, enterocolitis, etc. In medicine it is also used to treat inflammation of the bladder, inflammation of the gums and eyes, fungal diseases and others. Used in cough syrups.
