Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.)

Bermuda grass is a perennial grass from the grass family (Poaceae, traditionally Gramineae). The full correct botanical name is Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.; the species is accepted by Plants of the World Online and World Flora Online and is widely distributed in temperate, subtropical and tropical regions, including Bulgaria.

The plant develops creeping rhizomes and numerous above-ground stolons that root at the nodes and form dense grassy mats. The stems are low, slender and ascending, while the leaves are linear, narrow and firm. The inflorescence consists of several finger-like spikes.
