Damask Rose (Rosa × damascena Mill.) - Dried buds, flowers and petals

Damask rose is a perennial aromatic shrub from the rose family (Rosaceae). For this product, the botanical name Rosa × damascena Mill. is used, as Damask rose is a cultivated hybrid rose grown for rose essential oil, floral water, concrete and absolute.

The plant reaches around 2–3 metres in height. Its flowers are large, pink to reddish and highly fragrant. The petals are the main aromatic part used for distillation, extraction, drying and rose-based product applications. In Bulgaria, Damask rose is traditionally cultivated in the Rose Valley, where local conditions support its characteristic aromatic profile.
